I'm back from amsterdam!!!
Although we didnt do many touristy stuff.. like not visiting the windmills *gasp* the horror!
the trip was still fun. It gave me my first taste of being a backpacker, in a country where the main language is not english, finding your way everywhere by asking people or by looking at maps.
Anyway, the whole trip was documented by cheryl who wanted to capture every moment of the trip. So, i have a whole chunk load of photos im gonna share with you guys.

At the train station, going into the city of amsterdam!

Our first hostel in Amsterdam. and its right smack in the middle of the red light district.

Looks quite nice doesnt it? And its only 18 pounds per person each nite. And breakfast is provided too!

First thing you think to yourself when you walk into the red light district. "Hmm, whats that weird smell?" Well, the weird smell is weed. btw, they have swans in the most random places. Its EVERYWHERE.

I love the quirky shops they have in amsterdam. Look at all the cute condoms!

Look into the background. You'll see a guy peeing. And that's common! public urinals are EVERYWHERE too.

Lookie at the houses. They're actually tilted.

Pretty huh? See what i mean about swans being everywhere??
The rest of the day was pretty much just taking photos everywhere.
We went to this quaint little coffee shop though. Btw, coffee shops in amsterdam all sell weed. Those shops that DONT sell them are called cafes.

Its funny how they can so inconspicuously sneak in weed into the menu. We were looking through the menu, and it went something like this.
Coffee, hot chocolate, soft drinks, weed brownies, sandwiches.
Well, of course, being in amsterdam, we had to try the hash brownies.

Which did not have any effect on me. Well, maybe it did a little. It was only after cheryl mentioned it the next day when i realized that after i ate the brownies, i had so many fleeting , random thoughts.
The next day, we tried to find our way to our new hostel. But we got lost. Terribly lost. Lost for two hours.

But it's only after you get lost, can you see the part of amsterdam where no other tourist sees

We're being happy and posey because we found out that we're on the right path!

Finally, our hostel!
The rest of the post will be about food. Cause instead of seeing sights, we just ate most of the time.

Yum, belgian waffles.

This is their version of fastfood. Describe as greasy addictive stuff that just steals all your change. It is pretty yummy tho.

Cant believe we're eating chinese food in amsterdam instead of proper dutch food. We ate at this malaysian chinese restuarant for two days straight.

Dutch pastry. And we thought it was curry puff.

stroop waffles.. These are SERIOUSLY yummy!!!!

Okay, i guess you realised that this isnt a photo of food. This was one of the few touristy stuff we did. Canal cruise. Which was quite boring btw..
Anyway, im tired of uploading photos.. so im gonna stop here.
I wanna go travelling more!!!
